Ano yama o hitotsu koetara miete kuru

I'm like a fish, the sky is my sea
I'm swimming as if I was flying
Once I make it over that mountain, it comes into view

Along the straight path between the rice fields
I find someone's forgotten object
The lone shoe without its mate indicates it'll be a fine weather[1]

The slowly passing days have no answers

The seasons dye the water
It shines in the colors of the rainbow
When I stopped to catch my breath, it disappeared
Endlessly pouring laughter,
echoes like a song from far away

  1. In Japan, they sometimes play a weather fortune telling called "geta uranai" (下駄占い, lit. geta sandal fortune telling). In the geta uranai, the player tosses one of the pair of geta sandals he/she wears with the foot. If it lands upside-down, it indicates that the weather will be rainy tomorrow, and if it lands in the correct way, it will be fine weather. These days, they use western-style shoes or sandals instead of geta sandals for geta uranai since people in Japan hardly wear geta sandals in their daily life today.
