"We Cooked Rice at School" (学校でごはんを炊いた Gakkō de Gohan o Taita?) is the eighth episode of Non Non Biyori.
Summary[]
Kazuho has the students prepare a meal from the vegetables that they grew in the school garden. Komari is assigned to cook the rice, which doesn't turn out as intended.
Hotaru gets along well with the Koshigaya family's next door neighbor, Konomi Fujimiya, whilst Komari laments that the two seem more grown up than she is.
Komari joins Hotaru and Renge in doing some sketching, where she ends up becoming a model for them.
Konomi helps Komari and Natsumi make dried persimmons. Hotaru is so happy when they give her a string of them, but shocked by the shrunken head that one of them has become.
